It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Pittman, on April 14, 2024. Born on January 22, 1949, Diane lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity. She was best known for her loving spirit, witty sense of humor, and her ability to bring joy to all those around her. Regardless of age, Diane had a tremendous love for all people, making each person she encountered feel like a member of her own family.
Diane was predeceased by her mother, Minnie-Bell Pittman, and her father, John Davis Pittman, as well as 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. She leaves behind her dearest only son, Travis Pittman, her beloved sister, Elaine Pittman, brother, Lamar Pittman, and 2 Granddaughters, Makayla and Zariah Pittman. She is survived by many loving individuals, including 14 Nieces, 8 Nephews, 13 Great Nieces, and 10 Great Nephews, and a host of other In-laws, relatives and friends who will deeply miss her infectious joy.
Known for her love of food, some of her favorite dishes included a delicious Philly Cheesesteak and a hearty bowl of Chili. Music was another of Diane's joys, with Patti Labelle and Luther Vandross being among her most treasured artists. She passionately cheered on her favorite Atlanta sports teams including the Falcons, Hawks, and Braves.
Diane was an avid game player who enjoyed backgammon, solitaire, and scrabble. She had a knack for capturing memories and took great pleasure in photographing everyone, preserving precious moments for generations to come. The favorite color Red was a reflection of her vibrant personality. She enjoyed baking delicious desserts for everyone's birthday and family gatherings.
Diane's wisdom will forever live on through her lessons: "Always be willing to help others. Stand in your own truth. Smile no matter what. Follow your dreams. Show love to everyone." To Diane, kindness and generosity were not just virtues, they were a way of life. She believed in sharing herself and her things with others and treating every person she met with compassion. For Diane, family always came first, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Her favorite words "DUH" and "Whateverrrr" were often said with a sparkling twinkle in her eye, leaving a lasting memory of her fondness for humor. Diane's joy, wisdom, and generosity will be deeply missed, yet her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
