Our beloved Belinda B. Biggie, 49, reunited with her dad, Vern, and her son Anthony on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, intelligence, service, and unwavering determination.
Belinda was born on July 19, 1976, in Saint Catherine Parish to her loving parents, Millicent and Vern Bigbie, as their first child. She carried both responsibility and purpose from an early age. She began her education at Mayor Catholic school, where her brightness and natural intelligence were evident even then.
In 1985, Belinda migrated to the United States, settling in Mount Vernon, New York. She attended Cecil H Parker Elementary School, where she excelled academically and was honored with the distinguished Mayor Black Widow award and recognition of her outstanding achievement.
Belinda continued her education at Mount Vernon High School, graduating in 1995. Determined and focused, she wasted no time pursuing higher education, relocating to Norfolk, Virginia, to attend Norfolk State University. There, she earned her bachelor's degree and demonstrated her commitment to service by serving in the Air Force National Guard from 1997 to 2000 and then on active duty in the Air Force from 2004 to 2006.
Her pursuit of excellence did not stop there. Belinda went on to earn her master's degree from American Intercontinental University, further solidifying her dedication to personal and professional growth.
Remaining in Georgia, Belinda began her career with Georgia Family Services in 2005, where she worked faithfully until 2018. While caring for families around the state of Georgia, on September 30, 2007, Belinda welcomed her bundle of sunshine, Anthony. Through her work, she impacted countless lives, bringing compassion, professionalism, and strength to those she served.
Belinda was more than her accomplishments. She had a great sense of humor. She was kind and genuinely caring. She carried herself with confidence and determination, inspiring others through her example. Her journey from Jamaica to the United States reflected her courage, resilience, intelligence, ambition, drive, and pride in her Jamaican roots.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mom, Millicent, along with her sisters, Sophia, Cheryl, Shawna, and Alicia, family members, friends, colleagues, and all who were blessed to know her.
Though her time here was far too short, Belinda’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the barriers she broke, and the love she shared. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
